Not medical advice

Soberya is a self-tracking and motivation tool. The app, its statistics, milestones, mascots, notifications, and any content on this website are provided for informational and motivational purposes only. They do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and they are not a substitute for the judgment of a physician or other qualified health professional.

Always seek the advice of a doctor or qualified professional with any questions about alcohol use, dependence, or your health. Never disregard professional advice or delay seeking it because of something you read in Soberya.

Alcohol withdrawal can be dangerous

If you drink heavily or regularly, stopping suddenly can cause serious withdrawal symptoms (including seizures) that require medical supervision. Talk to a doctor before making significant changes to your drinking. Cutting down gradually is a valid goal too.

Emergencies

If you or someone else may be in danger — severe withdrawal symptoms, thoughts of self-harm, or any medical emergency — call your local emergency number immediately (113/114/115 in Vietnam, 911 in the US, 112 in the EU). Soberya is not an emergency service and cannot respond to crises.

Estimates, not measurements

Numbers shown in Soberya — standard drinks, calories, money saved, streaks, and similar — are approximations calculated from the information you enter and from published conversion factors (e.g., grams of alcohol per volume, 7 kcal per gram of alcohol). They exist to support motivation and self-awareness. They may differ from your actual intake, spending, or energy balance, and must not be used for medical, financial, or legal decisions.

Reference guidance shown in the app (such as commonly cited weekly limits) is general population guidance, varies by country, and may not be appropriate for you personally.

Illustrations are illustrations

Calendars, statistics and profile pages shown on this website are sample data, marked as such. They demonstrate what the app looks like, not any real person’s drinking.

The blog

Blog articles are for general information. Where they touch research we cite what we can and simplify carefully, but they are written for readability, not as clinical literature, and they may age. Do not make health decisions on the strength of a blog post alone.

No guarantee of outcomes

Changing drinking habits is personal and difficult. We make no promise that using Soberya will lead to reduced drinking, abstinence, or any particular health, financial, or personal outcome.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter and for decisions you make based on the app. Use of Soberya is at your own risk, as described further in our Terms of Use.

Support resources

If you are struggling with alcohol, consider reaching out to a doctor, a local addiction-support service, or a support community. You are not alone, and seeking help is a strength.
